Abou Maya - Marplot Map
This map is more about a natural "choke point" and only a little about islands. I think that islands, no matter how small they are, that are part of a "choke point" are fascinating. They become larger than their actual size. Abou Maya Island is located in Djibouti. It is 185-meters from the northern shore and 500-meters from the southern shore. It turns out that the northern pass is the deeper one. Ghoubbet Kharab is the bay that Abou Maya fronts.
As I was preparing to republish this map I noticed that the WVS layer was turned on along with the EVS layer. Everytime I compare the two layers, my zeal to produce a new level of mapping accuracy is reinforced. The world needs an improved "free" shoreline map - Enhanced Vector Shoreline
Enjoy!
