Nassau Island - Map
Nassau Island (11˚31'S., 165˚25'W.) lies about 165 miles NW of Suwarrow Atoll; it is 21m high to the top of the coconut palms. The island is surrounded by a steep-to fringing reef, which is about 90 to 130m wide on the E, S, and W sides, but comes in close to the beach on the N side.
The prevailing winds from April to September are the SE trades. At other times, winds may vary from the NE to W.

Nassau Island is small and the only Cook Island without a lagoon. As of 2001 under 100 people lived on the island. There is some old information at
this site. It talks about some early 20th century doings at this island.
I like this island. It was a 1-hour project from start to post. If only all projects were like this one. Quick to digitize and quality product. Nice combination.
